"Why Is Ealing Council Undermining Democracy with Its Actions?"

GOLF CLUB REPRESENTATIVE DENIED THE RIGHT TO SPEAK IN CRUCIAL DEBATE?  

Councillor Yoel Gordon chair of Ealing's Overview & Scrutiny Committee Panel has withdrawn the right of Perivale Park Golf club representative to speak at tonight's crucial council debate on the future of Perivale Park golf course.  At 11 am this morning the golf club committee were told   

" Public speaking is at the discretion of the Chair and he has decided not to take public contributions tonight. The reason given is that the public already had one opportunity to make our case via the  

consultation process and the resident's objections were taken into consideration at the last meeting? 

This is total nonsense! In the survey the public were specifically responding to questions regarding Regional Park innovations. The residents were never asked if they want to close Perivale Park Golf Course in favour of an expansion of an existing park? However, TONIGHT'S discussion is about the Closure.  Ealing Council have spun things due to Keir Starmer doing a U turn by ditching Labour's £28 bn a year green investment pledge. 

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE SLAP IN THE FACE FOR LOCAL DEMOCRACY BY EALING COUNCIL
